Frequently Asked Questions

Avata’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by supporting individuals, startups, and communities who have historically been excluded from formal systems of capital, education, and infrastructure. They enable self-driven growth through smart funding, skills development, and strategic partnerships.

“Permission to Dream” is one of Avata’s flagship programmes aimed at helping youth in underserved communities access tools, skills, and mentorship to achieve their goals. It creates structured pathways into education, employment, or entrepreneurship by removing barriers to opportunity and helping young people dream beyond their limitations.

“Permission to Live” is a three-year Avata programme that empowers youth over 18 with the skills, mindset, and tools to become job-ready and build long-term wealth. Through accredited training and psychometric assessments—delivered by partners like New Bridge and Jobbox—P2L addresses both internal growth and external opportunity. By shifting limiting beliefs and tracking personal development, it creates a clear, supported path to meaningful employment and economic independence.

Avata offers access to funding, mentorship, and development resources for small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs/SMEs). Through platforms like the Aions Exchange and community-based support, they help businesses formalise, grow sustainably, and expand employment within their local areas.

The Aions Exchange is a blockchain-based platform that tokenises verified startups and enables fractional ownership through impact-focused investments. Avata works in synergy with Aions Ventures to onboard high-potential, socially driven businesses that are then funded via the Exchange.

Yes. Avata is committed to transparent reporting. Every supported initiative undergoes tracking, and impact data—such as growth metrics, stories, and results—are shared openly. This ensures all stakeholders, including donors and partners, can see the measurable difference their contributions make.

Absolutely. Avata believes in full visibility. Every rand donated is tracked and aligned with specific initiatives, with impact updates and reports made available to donors to show exactly how funds are being used in real-time or near real-time.

Through programmes like Permission to Dream (P2D), Avata supports education by connecting youth to digital skills training, life coaching, employment readiness, and mentorship opportunities. The goal is to equip them with both the hard and soft skills needed to enter and thrive in the workforce.

Avata blends community upliftment with cutting-edge tech like blockchain to create a new kind of nonprofit—one where every donation is tracked, every beneficiary is verified, and every project is designed to be self-sustaining. It’s impact-first, transparency-led, and built for real-world outcomes.
